What made you become a conveyancer?
I’ve grown-up in the property industry with my family name being well known and respected. So naturally, it lead me down this path.
Eventually I became a Certified Practising Conveyancer (CPC) with the Australian Institute of Conveyancers and of course, started my own business. That was 10 years ago.
Over the years, what common mistakes have you seen homeowners make?
I have seen homeowners assume that a “pre-approval” alone, is enough to decide to purchase a property. That is not the case!
Given the size of the financial investment in buying a property, doing your research by ordering the right type of reports are so necessary to make your final decision and ensure there are no unexpected surprises or limitations. These include reports related to the structure of the property (that may identify major damages or repairs), as well as a thorough review of the purchase or sales contract and its terms and conditions.
